Motor Inventory Management Service At Etheredge we are aware that our customers may have limited spare motor storage space. That's why we offer our MIMS program. All motors will be stored in our Temperature controlled warehouse and checked monthly (see spec's below). In most cases we can have your spare on your plant site before you have the primary motor pulled. · All motors received for storage will be thoroughly tested and all test data recorded for future reference. If any abnormal test readings found, you will notified immediately. A. Megger Test B. Surge Test
C. No load test run D. Vibration test
· All D.C. motors will have brushes pulled from brusholders and commutators will be covered. · All motors will be tagged with customer information · All motors will be stored in pallet racks where possible. If not in racks, motors will be placed on a pallet. All enclosure openings not intended to be opened during operation, such as conduit entrances in terminal boxes, will be closed. · All motors will be stored in their normal operating position, for example, vertical motors in an upright position with shaft down. · All motors, stators and armatures will be megged and motor shafts will be rotated every 4 weeks. Shafts will be rotated in a manner to prevent flattening of bearings. In motors with oil lubricated bearings, the shaft will rotated to allow oil to coat the ring and bearing unit. · Oil lubricated bearings will be flushed and filled with new oil every twelve months. A visual inspection will be performed on drained oil. · If motors with greased bearings are on site for over one year, the grease will be inspected, cleaned out, and new grease installed as necessary. · If your motor is rewound by Etheredge and put into our storage program, your warranty does not start until the motor is put into service.
